Brick masons are construction professionals who work with brick and mortar to create a number of architectural enhancements to structures that are both functional as well as visually appealing. In some instances, a brick mason will also work with materials other than bricks, such as structural tiles, stone, and even prefabricated panels and facades.
How do you prepare?
While there isn't a formal educational requirement for becoming a Brick Mason, many Brick Masons learn their skills informally on the job or through an apprenticeship program. The basic skills that accompany a high school degree are certainly desirable and useful in a career in Masonry. A typical apprenticeship program requires three years of on-the-job training and a set number of hours of classroom instruction.
