What does a Corporate Secretary do?
A Corporate Secretary handles shareholder relations, coordinates annual meetings, and maintains lists of holding companies, officers, and directors. This position prepares Board of Directors' meeting agendas, coordinates fees and expenses, takes minutes, and assists with the annual election of Directors. A Corporate Secretary is expected to work independently, be resourceful and perform a wide variety of tasks. This position typically reports to top management.
How do you prepare?
You must have a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and at least 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
