Application Tips
Finding a position you are interested in and qualified for is only the first step in getting your dream job. Putting together a résumé and cover letter, making a good impression during the interview process and proving your communication skills through professional use of email are all very important. Don’t stress—we’ve provided tips to help you along the way!

Here are some general tips to get you started:

Use any and all resources available, job websites, company websites, newspapers, workforce development centers and personal contacts.

Many businesses will require you to fill out an online application, usually using the company website. Take your time and be as thorough as you can. Bring your list of references and accomplishments with you so that you can complete the form quickly and correctly.

Most also require that you provide a cover letter and résumé either digitally or in hard copy. Be sure to have these prepared for each position for which you apply. It is always better to be over prepared.
