What does a Firefighter do?
A Fire Fighter responds immediately to fires and other emergency situations and provides protection to the public and property.

How do you prepare?
You need a high school diploma and some experience if you want to be a Fire Fighter. You may need to pass strength tests when applying for positions in certain areas of the country.

What’s the pay like?
As a Firefighter in Iowa you can expect to earn approximately $35,420 a year, according to Iowa Workforce Development.
